The Illinois Governor Blagojevich appointed a former atty general (Burris) to the Senate seat, vacated by Barack Obama, today. There has been statewide and nationwide negative response. I think that it appears to be a solid pick. This man is African American, he has experience, and he has a clean track record. The longer this vacancy exists, the more it further damages the democratic party in Illinois. What's next? Approve the appointment? Statewide referendum?
Should this appointment be overturned just because it was made by an apparently corrupt governor?

Happy Holidays
We had a wonderful holiday with our family and friends! We are so fortunate that everyone was able to be here this year! It was special....thankfully the weather cooperated for driving. Here's to a great 2009!
Blogging Newbie
This is my first try at blogging. I'm hoping to introduce family and friends to this? Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
As you can tell by my blog title, I'm entering a new stage in life and want to make the most of it! I am lucky that I have health, family, and friends to spend time with!
